US Airways Cancelling Savannah Flights?

We're here on beautiful Hilton Head Island for a pre-Christmas sojourn and we've already told you how much trouble we had getting here on USAir/American. It was horrendous.
But now some island insiders tell us that US Air has been cancelling the last flight of the day to Savannah-Hilton Head airport and they are leaving paying passengers in the lurch without a second thought.
We hear they're also sending bags out on earlier flights and bags and passengers are not meeting up.
The people who are telling us this are people who would know.
We're laying the blame directly at the feet of US Air and American (the combined, merged gargantuan) or whatever they're calling themselves today.
As we told you yesterday, it took us a-l-l  d-a-y to get from Philadelphia to Savannah because of US Air.
BTW: We've never seen two airlines take so long to merge their companies, get everything in sync, explain what's going on to their passengers, combine their member-points programs, change their signs, update their planes and get their employees up to snuff with the combined entity. In fact, we've never seen two companies of any type take this long to get their combined acts together.
And, it seems the point program will be far less beneficial going forward.
Bottom line: US Air - American seems to be offering less, charging more and providing inferior service. That's our take on it.

I think you just described a monopoly. Why try if you're the only game in town?
