Cool Off: Free Skating At Skate Zone Locations

Comcast-Spectacor is offering the Greater Philadelphia Region an opportunity to beat the heat and cool off with a free two-hour public skating session, including skate rental, at any one of three Flyers Skate Zone locations on Saturday, July 12 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Additionally, the company is offering two-hour public skating sessions at these same locations from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 18 at the rate of $11 per session.

All four Flyers Skate Zone facilities offer year-round public skating sessions daily as well as Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey programs designed to be an introduction to ice skating and hockey for all ages. Flyers Skate Zone’s Learn to Skate program teaches beginners the basics of ice skating in a safe and fun environment. The six week lesson program has sessions year round and provides certified instruction along with free skate practice time at each lesson. Flyers Skate Zone Learn to Play Hockey is an introductory program for children ages 4-12 that teaches basic skills of skating, passing and shooting with an emphasis on having fun. The six week lesson program has sessions year round and is designed to prepare kids to move into a recreational league, such as the Flyers Skate Zone Limited Travel programs.

Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone offers Flyers Roller Hockey Camp which teaches children ages 7 to14 the fundamentals of roller hockey through extensive skill instruction and analysis that emphasize speed, endurance, agility, power and flexibility. Camp starts on Monday, July 14 and runs through Friday, July 18 from 9:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Also offered at Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone is Flyers Ice Hockey School with a curriculum designed by the Philadelphia Flyers coaching staff. Campers who participate in this program receive a meaningful learning experience with a week’s worth of on and off ice training. The camp also includes an official Flyers Ice Hockey School jersey and an appearance by Flyers Alumni players. Birthday party packages are offered for kids of all ages including two hours of public skating and skate rental, a private party room, food, drinks, and a hostess. The birthday child receives the opportunity to take a picture on the Zamboni.
