Rising Country Star Tomlinson In Free Philly Concert!

Country just got sexy at Xfinity Live! Philadelphia as rising star Trent Tomlinson takes the stage in a free, outdoor concert on Saturday, June 9 at 8 p.m. Opening act Her and King’s Country will begin the show at 7 p.m.

Missouri native, Tomlinson first gained notoriety in high school as a finalist on TNN’s hit talent competition “You Can Be A Star,” and was later signed to Lyric Street Records in 2004. His 2006 debut album, Country is my Rock, produced three Top 40 singles on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs including “Drunker Than Me," "One Wing in the Fire" and "Just Might Have Her Radio On.” His most recent single, “Man without a Woman,” was produced without a record deal and has experienced successful radio play across the country.

Tomlinson’s music takes a neo-traditionalist approach. His songs have a contemporary radio-friendly feel but usually deal with the cold, hard facts of life rather than pickup trucks and tractors.

Her and King’s Country is a six-piece band that labels their sound as City Country, blending energetic pop music with traditional country beats. Over the years, the New York City-based band has opened for numerous mainstream artists such as Kid Rock, Kellie Pickler and Montgomery Gentry. Their latest single, “White Trash Country Boy,” is sure to get the crowd energized.

Admission to the concert is free and open to the public ages 21 and older. This will be a non-ticketed event.

Tomlinson’s performance is one of many in a series of year-round, regular entertainment featuring local, regional and national recording acts at Xfinity Live! Philadelphia.
