Romney: Troop Withdrawal Puts Victories At Risk

Mitt Romney issued the following statement today on President Obama’s decision to withdraw troops from Iraq:
“President Obama’s astonishing failure to secure an orderly transition in Iraq has unnecessarily put at risk the victories that were won through the blood and sacrifice of thousands of American men and women. The unavoidable question is whether this decision is the result of a naked political calculation or simply sheer ineptitude in negotiations with the Iraqi government. The American people deserve to hear the recommendations that were made by our military commanders in Iraq.”

Anonymous said...: What puts American troops at risk is continuing military action without an immunity pact with the Iraqi govt... Romney has surrounded himself with some of the same advisers who got us in there. $3-5 TRILLION dollars for a war that was 1) irrelevant to any real "war on terror" and 2) badly planned, no exit strategy BEFORE we went in. Mitts way would be to stay in Iraq INDEFINITELY while cutting low income social safety nets at home. GREAT policy! Good luck with campaigning on STAYING in Iraq...; October 22, 2011 at 1:18 PM

About Dan Cirucci

He received his MA degree from Rowan University and his BA from Villanova University. He has been named a Distinguished Alumnus of Rowan's public relations program and received the E. A. "Wally" Richter Leadership Award, the highest honor from the National Association of Bar Executives' Communications Section. He has also been honored by numerous other local, state and national groups.

In his hometown of Camden, Cirucci taught fifth grade at the Ulysses Wiggins Elementary School named for the founder of the Camden NAACP. There he was one of the first teachers in the country to teach African-American history to inner city students. He later served as editor of a local weekly newspaper, as Assistant to the Township Manager of Cherry Hill Township and as Associate Director of Communications at the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Cirucci's passions include politics, the popular culture, books and authors, art, communication, music, theatre, movies, dining and travel.
