We All Know Where The Buck Stops

Last year at this time we journeyed to America's heartland -- to Kansas City and nearby Independence, Missouri where we visited the Truman homestead and library.
When we toured the library and viewed Harry Truman's recreated presidential office we saw the famous sign that Truman kept on his desk, placed there so that visitors could clearly see it.
Surely you've seen that famous sign in old photos or newsreels. At this point i's iconic. It said: "The buck stops here!"
Truman wanted everyone to know that passing the buck ended at the door to the oval office. The blame game came to an end at Truman's door. The President of the United Sates must, could and would accept responsibility.
And Truman did just that.
The decisions were his. He madre the calls and he took the heat.
Americans know this to be true.
We know where the buck stops.
And in case we forgot, bold, decisive leaders like Truman were not afraid to remind us.
But we need no lessons on civics or history on this one.
Whether this sits well with the current president or not, the buck stops squarely at his door and the responsibility is his.
