Girl Dies In Fall From NJ Ferris Wheel

A girl reportedly fell from a Ferris Wheel in the shore town of Wildwood, N.J.today and died.
Reports say she was rushed to a local hospital after the mishap.
Wildwood (near New Jersey's southernmost tip) is a youth mecca that is said to be crowded with school kids today as part of a regular education event.
The accident reportedly happened at Morey’s Mariner’s Landing Pier. Morey's Landing has one of the world's largest Ferris Wheels. The fall was said to have been five stories. The ride was in motion and the young girl was about half-way up when she fell from the wheel's car, police said.
The Pier reportedly issued a statement confirming the accident, which happened early this afternoon.
It said the incident involved a young female who was taken from the Pier by helicopter. Other reports say the girl was a 5th or 6th grade middle schooler who may have been in the shore town for a class trip. She is said to have fallen into the ride loading area.
Apparently, the fall was not part of horseplay nor was it an intentional jump.
