Villanova: 'It's Us Against The World!'

So, Villanvova will be in the NCAA tournament after all.
Did you ever have any doubts.
This IS Villanova that we're talking about.
Here's an excerpt from the Philadelphia Daily News story:

This NCAA Tournament will be a little different for Villanova.
The Wildcats are the first team to enter the NCAA Tournament coming off five losses.
They also will be the lower seed for the first time in recent memory.
Villanova, the ninth seed in the East region, will face George Mason, the eighth seed, on Friday in Cleveland in a second-round game.
“We know we’re in the underdog role,” coach Jay Wright said after the selections were announced. “It’s sort of like us against the world. It’s a little different for us … We’re going to relish that position. There are a lot of people who expect us to fail and I can’t blame them. We do know how to do it because we’ve done it.”

mj hawkeye said...: 'Nova in the NCAA's is akin to the Rocky Graziano move, "Somebody Up There Likes Me". The selection committee needs a new format. I'm a Big Ten person but there's no way Penn St. and Michigan St. should have been in. It helps to have the Ohio St. AD head up the selection committee. Colorado was jobbed and the tourney would be a lot more exciting if more mid-majors were in. But, hey, I'm only a rank amateur.; March 16, 2011 at 4:20 PM

About Dan Cirucci

Cirucci served as Associate Executive Director of the Philadelphia Bar Association for nearly 30 years. He served as Chair of Penn State University's Professional Advisory Board for the Corporate Communication major at Penn State Abington and on the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Judicial Selection Commission.

He received his MA degree from Rowan University and his BA from Villanova University. He has been named a Distinguished Alumnus of Rowan's public relations program and received the E. A. "Wally" Richter Leadership Award, the highest honor from the National Association of Bar Executives' Communications Section. He has also been honored by numerous other local, state and national groups.

In his hometown of Camden, Cirucci taught fifth grade at the Ulysses Wiggins Elementary School named for the founder of the Camden NAACP. There he was one of the first teachers in the country to teach African-American history to inner city students. He later served as editor of a local weekly newspaper, as Assistant to the Township Manager of Cherry Hill Township and as Associate Director of Communications at the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Cirucci's passions include politics, the popular culture, books and authors, art, communication, music, theatre, movies, dining and travel.
