Tea Partiers See Positive Signs In Philly Region

News from the Independence Hall Tea Party PAC:
Two and a half weeks away from mid-term elections, polling shows our tri-state area candidates beating or closing in on their opponents.
As expected, the leads of challengers Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8) and Lou Barletta (PA-11) over their respective incumbent opponents--Patrick Murphy and Paul Kanjorski--have narrowed to single digits. We must be vigilant in our support.

Dave Argall (PA-17) is in a close race with 'Cash for Clunkers' Congressman Tim Holden (no polling data yet, but Republicans have won this district in the last three presidential elections.) It's now or never for the 17th District. (Holden voted with Pelosi to adjourn Congress without extending the Bush tax cuts--thereby voting to raise our taxes this fall.)
According to a Monmouth University Poll, Pat Meehan (PA-7) holds a 4 point lead over Brian Lentz.
Two other polls suggest a 1 and 3 point race. Jim Schneller does not appear to be a factor. He's now pulling from both sides.
Congressmen Jim Gerlach (PA-6) and Joe Pitts (PA-16) seem headed for re-election. Jim Gerlach scored a big victory over his opponent in last Sunday's debate.

In the 13th Congressional District, Real Clear Politics has moved Dee Adcock's race against Allison Scwartz from "safe Democrat" to battleground. Can Dee defeat the Pelosi of the East?
Pat Toomey (R-PA) still holds a steady lead over socialist Joe Sestak. While many see the senate race as
tightning, a recent Rasmussen poll has Toomey up 10 points.

In New Jersey, Jon Runyan (NJ-3) is within striking distance of incumbent John Adler. As mentioned in previous Alerts, the spoiler candidacy of Runyan's fake "Tea Party" opponent, Peter DeStefano, has been linked directly to Democrat incumbent, John Adler.
Adler's campaign purposely sought to confuse voters over the identity of the real Tea Party endorsed candidate, Jon Runyan, in order to suppress Runyan's vote total. It won't work. Tea Partiers can't be fooled.
According to the latest poll, Anna Little (NJ-6) is trailing incumbent Frank Pallone by single digits. RCP recently moved the contest "safe democrat" to battleground. Anna debates her opponent this Sunday (details below). This could be the one and only debate.
Scott Sipprelle (NJ-12) is waging a competitive campaign against leftist incumbent--Rush Holt--and is down by 5 points (margin of error) according to another Monmouth University poll. Scott debates Holt on Monday. Details to follow.

In recent press releases, Dale Glading (NJ-1) has hammered Rob Andrews on Andrew's extravagent, and possibly illegal, use of PAC money. This could be a potentially explosive issue.
Finally, in Delaware, the controversial Christine O'Donnell "I Am You" TV spots, that had been airing as of late, have been pulled. Polling indicates that these spots actually hurt the O'Donnell campaign. Prior to the ads, Christine was down 15 points. After the ads, she was trailing by 21 points. A new "Coons the Tax Man" spot will begin airing soon.

Today's Rasmussen poll, conducted after Christine's successful CCN debate with her bearded Marxist opponent, Chris Coons, indicates that the strength of her performance has narrowed Coons lead to 11 points. That's an incredibly quick turn around. Congratulations, Christine!
