Christie Inaugural Details Announced

The New Jersey Inaugural 2010 Committee announced today special participants in the Swearing-In Ceremony of Governor-Elect Chris Christie and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Kim Guadagno. The Swearing-In Ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at the Trenton War Memorial in Trenton, New Jersey. During the ceremony, Governor-Elect Christie and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Guadagno will become the 55th Governor and 1st Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey, respectively.

Participants of the Swearing-In Ceremony include:

New Jersey National Guard 63rd Army Band: The New Jersey National Guard’s 63rd Army Band will perform before and during the Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony. They are stationed at the New Jersey National Guard Training Center at Sea Girt.
New Jersey National Guard Performs 19-Gun Salute: The New Jersey National Guard’s 3rd Battalion 112th Field Artillery will execute a 19-Gun Salute immediately following Governor-Elect Christie taking the oath of office. The 19-Gun Salute honors the new Governor as the Commander-In-Chief of the New Jersey National Guard.
Chief Justice Stuart Rabner: Chief Justice Stuart Rabner will deliver the oath of office to Governor-Elect Christie and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Guadagno. Rabner has been Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court since June 2007.

Trenton Children’s Chorus Intermediate Ensemble: The Intermediate Ensemble is one of several ensembles of the Trenton Children’s Chorus. Created in 1989, the Children’s Chorus is comprised of young people from Trenton and the surrounding area, ranging in age from 2nd grade through high school. The Ensemble will perform before and during the Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony.
Pat Guadagno and the Candle Brothers: Pat Guadagno and the Candle Brothers are a four-part a cappella group. They will perform the National Anthem at the Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony.
Sister Merris Larkin: Sister Merris Larkin is the Principal of the Assumption School in Morristown where three of Governor-Elect Christie’s children are currently enrolled and eldest is an alum. Sister Larkin will say the Invocation at the Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony.
Reverend Joseph H. Hennen:
Reverend Joseph H. Hennen is the Founder of Daytop - New Jersey. Daytop – New Jersey – one of the Christie-Guadagno Inaugural partner charities -- was founded in 1991 and is an organization that provides treatment, education and assistance to adolescents and their families struggling with substance abuse problems. Reverend Hennen will say the Benediction at the Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony.
