Pop Shop Cafe/Cremery

What's a crab pretzel?
It's a Philadelphia soft pretzel smothered with crabmeat and melted cheese.
Where can you get it?
At The Pop Shop in Collingswood, of course!
The crab pretzel is just one of many unusual items on the menu at at this one-of-a-kind retro diner/soda fountain just a short walk from the PATCO hi-speed line station in South Jersey.
The Pop Shop doesn't try to recreate an all-American 50's diner feel. Instead, it reinvents it.
The place is nostalgic but updated as well.
The Pop Shop seats 85 at a combination of leather booths, 1960-inspired faux wood and metal tables, and the fountain soda fountain. Plus, a brand new party room is set to open at any moment.
The wait staff and soda jerks all don soda jerk hats and custom bowling shirts.
One wall is decorated with the owners’ collection of vintage clocks including classic Westcloxs.
The soda fountain and hostess counter were reclaimed from a condemned 1940’s counter diner in Ottoville, Iowa and retrofitted to fit The Pop Shop. The owners won the soda fountain and hostess counter in an E-bay auction.
There seems to be a story behind everything at The Pop Shop.
But of course none of this would work without a fun, imaginative menu featuring great food. And that The Pop Shop has.
When we stopped at The Pop Shop yesterday we sampled the crab pretzels along with lusciously thick milkshakes, a variety of hamburgers, tuna melts, seasoned fires, and The Pop Shop's very own chocolate bread pudding. Everything was wonderful.
And, yes - The Pop Shop is for everybody. There are veggie items on the extensive menu along with senior citizen specials and a full children's menu. Which is to say you don't have to pig out to enjoy the place. And the owners and wait staff are happy to accommodate your special requests.
The Pop Shop combines a welcoming community-centered atmosphere, moderate prices, and warm service. Their aim is "to be known as a 'friendly place.' "
"The place everyone goes to after games or plays. A place for first dates and play dates. An after school hangout and senior social destination. A place you can take a date or your three-year-old on a Saturday night."
The Pop Shop is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and ice cream from 8 till 9 Monday through Thursday, from 8 till 10 Friday, from 7:30 till 10 Saturday and from 7:30 till 8 on Sunday.
Enjoy!
