Christie Listens To Jerseyans

National Tax Day was April 15th, but for us here in New Jersey, we have to work until April 29th just to cover our tax burden. Compare this to the national average of March 23rd and there's no question that Governor Corzine and his administration are out of touch when they say New Jersey is not "overtaxed."
This past week, Chris Christie traveled throughout our state to talk to overtaxed New Jerseyans as he shared his plans to lower taxes and fix our broken state. Chris held Town Hall meetings in Cape May and Morris Counties, sat down for Kitchen Table Tax Talks (photo) in Camden and Bergen Counties, hit the airwaves on both television and radio. Chris heard the same thing and again throughout his travels this week, "Yes, Governor Corzine, we are overtaxed!"
On Tax Day, April 15th, Chris visited with Bergen County residents in a Kitchen Table Tax Talk held in Waldwick. As expected, taxes dominated the conversation, as Chris discussed the 103 new taxes and fees imposed by Corzine and McGreevey and how they've affected families in Bergen County. They were appalled to hear that Waldwick's property taxes have gone up 62% under the Corzine and McGreevey administrations. They are ready for a change in Bergen County.
Later in the week, Camden County residents sat down with Chris in Runnemede to discuss taxes, education and bringing new jobs to New Jersey. The Runnemede residents were concerned that while their property taxes had gone up under Corzine and McGreevey (48%!), the quality of their services seemed to have gone down, especially in public schools. These Camden County residents have seen businesses and neighbors flee the state of New Jersey for nearby Pennsylvania because of lower taxes and better jobs. They were excited to hear that Chris has a real plan to keep businesses and jobs in the state, bring businesses back to New Jersey, all while lowering our taxes and fees.
Chris Christie is New Jersey's best hope for the future.
